Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

The word, "virtual world" can be used as a computer-simulated environment intended for its users to inhabit and interact with via avatars. I think the system allows the people around the world can communicate and they can understand each other regardless the place. In "Going to the virtual office in Second Life," by Mark Tutton, the article talks about massive demand for virtual world from dominant IT companies. As quoted, they strongly believe they the virtual worlds can bring out "a sense of place" in various ways. Now all people using(or living) the virtual worlds have no limits and boundaries of what they are or where they belong.
In “Virtual Worlds May Impact Real World Behavior” , the author brings out how some users might be neglect of how to manage their time with avatars in newly created system (virtual world), will have argumentative effects to their real life performance. I think the future of virtual worlds would be incorporating the use of the currently developing technology dealing with virtual reality management (or system). It could also make people lose the closeness of inter-personal relationships and some the events are involved bad copy of the real world tiresome and downright boring.

Blog about Twitter

I believe that twitting affords students the opportunity to comment in 140 characters. This format fosters precision, revision, and editing since the tweet is a short written expression that is instantaneous and reaches a huge audience. But blackboard discussion does not limit any words, you can put words as much as you want.

You are therefore restrained as to how extensive your examples that you are making can be. In our increasingly linguistically-diverse classes, with an in-class discussion, there is no comparison to being able to express yourself fully

Social Networking Sites

Facebook

I have been using FB since my first year of college. I have heard that even in Africa (lacks of water, food supplies) the people use Facebook by using Google's Wi-Fi Drone system.
One of the most influential and huge social network sites(Definitely first generation a SNS)
After M&A with What's up application(does not make a revenue but has kept the largest user infrastructure).
Now, MOBILE is Facebook's oriented focus and a cash cow. based on their financial statements, Mobile AD Revenue makes up 76% all Add revenue on FB.

Twitter

Micro Blogging SNS that limits each post to 140 characters (I like this idea).
Largest penetration throughout U.S but not entirely a whole world. It was a rising star for a few years.
Saleseforce Co, withdrew the process of buying, but I am expecting good deal for both industries (Mobile network, and SNS section)

LinkedIn

Business Oriented, Corporate Brands, giving potential and current associates a a place to Network&Connect. After M&A with Microsoft, LinkedIn showed a little bit less growth rate from expected mark rate. The LinkedIn has a lot of beneficial outs and expectations for both entry level job seekers and experienced professionals.

Instagram

Social sharing site all around PICTURES and 15 second VIDEOS.
using #HASHTAGS and postings, Mostly Nike puts an efforts on it, I believe the corporation has similar agenda and image with Instagram.
PICTURES and consumers can relate to.
Good for Photographers and picture lovers, but for me who does not,
I would not use for this site at all.

Social Networking

The most beneficial advantages of using social networking on behalf of technology are :
1.          Worldwide Connectivity
Finding romance
Seeking a new job
Locating assistance
2.       Commonality of Interest
3.       Real-Time Information Sharing

Disadvantages

1. Backlash:
A joke among friends is one thing but a joke with the world at-large is much different. When potentially offensive content is posted online, the amount of feedback can be excessive and is often brutal.
2. Cyberbullying and Crimes Against Children
Use of social networks may expose individuals to other forms of harassment or even inappropriate contact. This can be especially true for teens and younger children.
3. Risks of Fraud or Identity Theft

If you are like most people, you already use at least one social media platform, but you may still have some questions about social networking. Is social media helping or hindering your life? Is it safe? Can it really increase productivity and build brand awareness - or is it simply a place to waste a considerable amount of time?Since networking and online social communities are so widespread, several studies have looked at the effects of social networking. I would like to use two assigned readings to support my arguments. A common complaint, highlighted on “Antisocial Networking?” by HILARY STOUT, suggests social media is making us less social and more aggressive. Comments on social media sites are often more blunt than the statements would be if they were made face-to-face. But other sources, like “Social Networking Technology Boosts Job Recruiting,” suggest that social networking, like any other technological tool, is as good as a user makes it.
My best advice to use the social networking is this: when using any social media platform, take responsibility for your own safety and never join a group just because it is trendy or all your friends are doing it. In evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of social networking, it's best to err on the side of caution and protect your privacy. Be careful with what you post and treat others as if you were in a face-to-face situation.
